72% of young users surveyed by Hint App combine astrology, sketches, and palmistry within the same week, not to predict the future but to process emotion and delay impulsive decisions.
A user survey by Hint App reveals that symbolic tools such as palm readings, and visual soulmate sketches are increasingly used in combination, forming a personal emotional infrastructure among Gen Z. Based on responses from over 9,000 users aged 18 to 29, the study found that 72% engaged with two or more symbolic systems in the same week, using them as part of a ritualized sequence to manage emotions, regulate decisions, and articulate inner states.
The convergence of tools, astrology for timing, palmistry for life patterns and sketching for visualization, forms a rhythm that users return to repeatedly. This is not symbolic entertainment or passive mysticism. Instead, it is a deliberate structuring of emotional time. 61% of respondents said engaging in multi-tool rituals helped them feel less urgency in making decisions, particularly in romantic or uncertain life contexts. 78% described the use of symbolic systems as a way to "name" or process emotions before taking action.
The rituals are temporally predictable. Palmistry sessions are clustered on Sunday nights, correlating with reflections about career direction and personal boundaries. During Saturn retrograde periods, sessions centered on themes of timing and alignment saw an increase of nearly 50%. Across dating-related sessions, three out of five users paired compatibility readings with visual soulmate sketches, creating a composite sequence of insight, reflection, and eventual communication.
What emerges is a structured response to unstructured emotional states. Users report that sequencing rituals, e.g., receiving a sketch and journaling afterwards, helps transform uncertainty into a manageable cadence. The symbolism operates less as prophecy and more as metaphorical scaffolding, providing a system for slowing down, making sense, and moving forward with more clarity.
In the survey responses, users cited digital overwhelm, fluctuating work-life boundaries, and the difficulty of making relational choices as core motivations. For many, symbolic rituals serve as a "checkpoint", not unlike therapy homework or mindfulness routines, to externalize internal tension into tangible formats. Notably, 42% of respondents said they also paired Hint rituals with offline practices such as journaling, movement, or therapeutic reflection.
The data suggests that Gen Z is not returning to tradition but repurposing it. Ancient symbols are retooled into modern rituals, sequenced, repeatable, and emotionally strategic. As one respondent put it, the goal is not to predict what happens next but to "feel ready" when it does.
